Base64 encoder and decoder
Base64 turns bytes into 64 plain characters so binary data can travel in text such as JSON, email or data URLs. Text is converted to UTF-8 first, so every language works. URL-safe mode uses - and _ instead of + and / and drops the = padding, as used in JWT tokens.
Base64 is an encoding, not encryption: anyone can decode it. Do not use it to hide passwords. When decoded data is not text, you can download it as a file.

Is Base64 encryption?
No. It only changes the representation; anyone can decode it.
Why is the Base64 longer than my text?
Base64 needs 4 characters for every 3 bytes, so it is about 33% larger.
