Table OCR: turn a table screenshot into Excel
The tool recognizes the words and their positions, then builds rows and columns: along the table lines when there are lines, or from the gaps between words when there are none.
It is made for simple tables: one line of text per cell and no merged cells. Complex tables, photos taken at an angle and handwriting often come out wrong, so check every cell before you use the data.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn a picture of a table into Excel?
Choose the image, press Recognize table, fix the cells below, then press Download .xlsx. You can also download CSV or copy the cells into a spreadsheet.
Which tables work best?
Clean, straight tables with one line per cell, with or without lines. Merged cells, tilted photos and handwritten tables often come out wrong.
Will the CSV open correctly in Excel?
Yes. The CSV is UTF-8 with a marker, so Chinese, Japanese and other text does not turn into garbage in Excel.
Is the table image uploaded?
No. Recognition and table building both run in your browser.
