CSV to Excel
Drop a CSV file or paste CSV text and download it as an Excel .xlsx file.
How to use
- Choose a CSV file or paste CSV text.
- Check the preview. If characters look wrong, change the encoding; change the delimiter if the columns are not split correctly.
- Press Download to get the .xlsx file.
CSV to Excel
The encoding is detected automatically (UTF-8, then Big5, GBK, Shift-JIS and EUC-KR), and you can choose one by hand. Delimiters (comma, semicolon, tab, pipe) are detected too. Quoted cells with commas and line breaks are handled.
Numbers are saved as numbers, but values such as 007, phone numbers and IDs longer than 15 digits stay as text so nothing is lost. The first row can be made a bold, frozen header. Excel allows 1,048,576 rows and 16,384 columns; anything beyond that is cut off and you are told. Nothing is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Chinese text garbled in Excel?
Many CSV files are saved in Big5 or UTF-8 without a marker, and Excel guesses wrong. Converting to .xlsx here fixes it: pick the right encoding in the preview and the file opens correctly.
Will leading zeros be kept?
Yes. Values like 007 or 0912345678 are kept as text, and so are numbers longer than 15 digits.
Does it keep formulas or formatting?
No. CSV has none; you get plain values, with an optional bold header row.
Is my file uploaded?
No. It is converted in your browser.
